Description
New E-3120 flat root blade holder engineered by Serenity Wind as a durable replacement for original components nearing end-of-life. The upgraded design improves strength, reduces stress concentrations, and offers enhanced corrosion resistance. The first blade holders in the field are nearing 3 years service in coastal environments with no measurable wear and no brown stains on the blades.
The aluminium bronze-lined bores provide a durable hard wearing surface. No rust slurry is produced in the bores as is the case with plain steel tubes. This dramatically reduces the wear rate of the hub arm sleeves. It also eliminates the squeaks and groans emanating from the original design when worn.
Smooth transitions in the high stress areas of the blade holder structure reduce fatigue. FEA studies show a 4 times reduction in the high stress areas around the pivot block apertures.
The thickness of the paddle plates is reduced in the low stress areas to allow for thicker steel to be used where the higher stresses occur resulting in a blade holder that is 4 times stronger and yet weighs the same as the OEM part.
Overall, this completely redesigned holder extends service life and significantly reduces maintenance costs.
